I mean why bother writing blogs or even sharing testimonies about your life?
There are 7 billion people in the world and seven belong people who don’t care about your precious faith and your experiences.
Then why should you bother trying to share the story.
Sharing a story about your life story is a vital key that will change the way you see yourself and ultimately the people around you. It is important that we as believers demonstrate that the word of God is not a collection of fables by the way we live our lives. This can be done by documenting what we are doing as believers.
A story adds emotion to what could otherwise be a collection of figures and facts. Instead of treating the bible as something that is removed from the modern day realities we are to show how seemingly innocuous verses are highlighting the power of God not only in the bible story but are having a direct impact in your life, in your relationships, family, ministry and career.
As you woke up this morning you began to write another page in your life. Whatever choice that you make during the day will determine your future. You might think that they are insignificant when they are viewed individually but they contribute much in their totality.
Even the silent have their stories to tell. With the right platform you will find that everyone has a powerful and helpful story that could change the way you look at life. Maybe you are not a gifted speak like your pastor but you want to share your own experiences. The blog or book or podcast are platforms that you can use to reach ot to a wide range of people.
The story of your life helps you to understand:
- Who you are?
It takes you sitting down by yourself and analyzing a string of events in your life to really understand your values and motivations. The real person is often hidden behind a lot of layers. The only person who knows the real you is yourself.
- Who you want to be?
This person is what you have always wanted to do and to be. Most of the time when we review our experiences, we dream about what we can possible do. No one is keeping you from following your desired paths. It is true that we have limitations about what we can achieve but limitations can be overcome.
When you understand who you are and who you want to be, you can take active steps to bridge the gap. The steps you take will help you overcome the limitations that hinder you from experiencing what you want to achieve. The simple fact is that you are the story and no one will tell it for you. You have to go out and tell it to the world. You should begin to weave your own story and stop living the life of other people.
Every morning we go to work without our own goals and plans we are living out the dreams and plans of other people. The job is at a company that was dreamed up by someone else. All we do is provide labor that will bring their aspirations to life. There is nothing wrong with going to work as long as you are living the life that you have always wanted to live.
It is not enough to give people facts and figures. You have to inspire them with real people’s life stories. A story at the right time and in the right place changes how we see the facts and figures of different causes.
I guess it is because it is important to highlight how our Christian faith has enable each one of us to deal with life situations so that other believers will not feel overwhelmed.
This is a good reason to testify
Technology offers us greater reach to talk to other believers to equip each other and to strengthen each other with vital lessons.
I think it is easy in today’s world for believers to feel isolated
I am reminded by this story in the old testament Elijah is on the run from the machinations of Ahab and Jezebel
“And the word of the LORD came to him: “What are you doing here, Elijah?” He replied, “I have been very zealous for the LORD God Almighty. The Israelites have rejected your covenant. , broken down your alters, and put your prophets to death with the sword. I am the only one left, and now they are trying to kill me too.”
So Elijah thought he was all alone God asks him again the same question further in the chapter and Elijah gives the same answer. Later God inform him that “Yet, I reserve 7000 in Israel whose knees have no bowed down to Baal and all whose mouths have not kissed him.”
You might think you are the only one who is standing for the faith but there are millions of others around the world
Another reason is that the world media will never share our stories
If they do share the image will be distorted
I always watch the news and the movies and Christian are portrayed as zealots who are mentally disturbed and who are intellectually challenged
A different story when you hear from fellow Christians from across the world is definitely something that we should cheer about.
I feel compelled and moved to share uplifting Christian stories of success in each area of my life. I want people to read and understand and share with other Christians
I want to read uplifting stories and listen and hear uplifting Christian content, this is why I think more Christians should be blogging and sharing their stories with the world.
It does not matter if you will be mocked. When you realize that we all have a common destiny some things begin to matter less than they seemed.
Another valid reason is that we are commanded to share the Gospel and if we share our experiences and how the gospel has helped us with our lives I do not think that is a bad thing.
In Matthew 28:18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always to the very end of the age.”
To some people in the world we are believing in fables, guess what that is just fine because everyone has the right to believe what they want.
Just don’t force people to believe what you believe, you have to share and God will do the rest
But then again that is just me.
I do not have expert knowledge, I am not ordained I am just an ordinary Christia
